Share Kai and Kōrero

Pop-up community food events that encourage connection and celebrate the diversity of cultures that call Aotearoa home through the sharing of food.

Share Kai and Kōrero feature our Share Kai Cooks Collective, passionate cooks from former refugee and ethnic communities who make traditional and beloved food not often seen in our hospitality spaces (think Eritrean coffee and injera, Nepali chai and momos, Afghan donuts and qabili palau...).

All events are run in partnership with a neighbourhood or community group who provides the venue and a connection to the local community. Events are open to the public with meals at accessible prices.

Guests are encouraged to engage in cultural conversations, share memories and stories, and find commonalities. Our simple conversation starters are intended to help people share about themselves and learn about others.

I really enjoyed the event - delicious food and some lovely conversation and connections. I wasn’t sure quite what to expect but it worked really well allowing conversations to naturally spark up amongst strangers who had come with that purpose.
