Event Title: Share Kai and Kōrero Riccarton Nepali Night
Event Description: Join us for dinner, connect with others over tasty traditional food and share in the culture and cuisine of Nepal. Share Kai is about creating spaces where we can come together, connect meaningfully over a meal and learn about the cultures that call our city home.
What to expect on the night:
Kai: A delicious Nepali meal, cooked by Tulasha, Alysha and Shova, former refugee and migrant women from the Cooks Collective. Menu to be released prior, stay tuned! Meat (halal), vegan and gluten-free options. For takeaways please bring your own container!
Cost: Snacks $5, meals $18, combos (main and sweet) from $20, drinks $2 with any combo. All proceeds kept by the Share Kai Cooks Collective.
No bookings: Join us on the night, we accept cash and PayWave.
Connection: you’ll be seated next to others and we invite you to have a chat with others around the table with connection cards that nudge you to talk such as – "What's your go to comfort food?", "Who taught you to cook?" and “What’s your most memorable meal?”.
RSVP Information: there is no need to RSVP, however, arriving as close to 6pm as possible is recommended to avoid disappointment!
Come along, bring your whānau (family) and friends, and your appetite! We look forward to meeting you.
Note: This event is led by InCommon, a community organisation that encourages people to reach out across cultures and faiths to make Canterbury a place where everyone feels they belong, in partnership with the Oak Development Trust.
